This week, Paul and David talk about how to promote your blogs and other Web content. You have to be more grassroots and deliberate about it, and use a variety of techniques such as mailing lists, keywords, inbound links, and just paying attention to the details of your content. The days of Flash-y pages are over: the way to Google’s search algorithms lies with simple and well-designed textual pages. Google has become our universal home page, and understanding how they will index your site is important in driving traffic to your site.

Excellent session, with a lot of useful tips for Web site optimization and blog marketing. One topic I’d like to hear more of in your follow-up is how to adjust your tone from one of “talking” to “beginning a conversation.” Journalists and marketeers are geared to telling a story and leaving the reader with no questions. Any suggestions for writing blogs that promote comment and discussion?

Bob has a good point. Good weblogging evokes a visceral response from the audience.

I’ve found using Adoptic is a good way to show off your posts. http://www.brian1127.blogspot.com. Entrecard is good for showing an image of your blog, though.
